2. HUMAN EVOLUSION

New-Darwinism

Evolution is the result of the interaction between the following processes:

1. Mutation. 

It is a biological chance or transformation. 

"A permanent heritable change in the nucleotide sequence in a gene or chromosome. The mutant / individual exhibit such change".

2. Genetic recombination.

"A process by which the combination of genes in a organism's offspring becomes different from that organism's combination of genes."

3. Changes in the chromosome number and structure 

"Chromosomes are the vehicle for hereditary  material or genes. Any alteration, addition or deletion of chromosomal part leads to alteration and number, position or sequence of genes in the chromosome".

4. Natural selection

" The process whereby organisms better adopted to their environment tend to survive and produced more offspring" The survival of the fittest. Struggle for existence. Natural selection  ….selective breeding.

5. Reproductive isolation.

"A mechanism that keeps species from mating with each other. Where different species lives in the same area, but properties of individuals prevent them from interbreeding.
